  • Fishing off the Patea Wall

  • By Nicky
  • Taking on the waves at the end of the Patea wall can sometimes be risky business, but these fisherman are determined to take home some dinner.
  • Calf and Lamb Day Dress Up

  • By Nicky
  • Pet days are very unique at Taranaki Rural schools – this pair, in fancy dress as the "Tramps," looked amazing, not to mention very cute together! Capturing a special moment, the mum is happy for me to share this on the My Taranaki website.
  • Mt Taranaki

  • By Nicky
  • Bush country views, with Mount Taranaki looking as beautiful as ever in the background.

  • By Nicky

  • Magic Evening

  • By Nicky
  • Nothing beats a walk along the long beach of Patea on a warm summers evening! If you have not taken the time to visit yet, you really should put it on your bucket list and make a day of it!
  • Patea River

  • By Nicky
  • All action on the river with the "milk train" to the left and a couple of locals heading in from the sea after a day of fishing. Also on the mud flats on the right you can see locals surfcasting. And in the distance the only thing remaining of the Patea freezing works are the old cool stores, which often reflect onto the river.
  • Mt Taranaki Peaks in Hawera

  • By Nicky
  • Mt Taranaki pops up all over Taranaki, captured here in rural Hawera with the Fonterra owned cows. The mountain always makes a wonderful back drop!

  • By Nicky
  • Walking in the evenings along the beach of Patea with a magic sunset... it's close to perfection.
  • Whenuakura Snow

  • By Nicky
  • I had never seen it snow in Whenuakura, but on this day it did, much to the delight of locals who awoke to it! Looking across the white valleys, with Mt Taranaki so crisp and clear, the view was certainly one to remember!
  • Milk Train

  • By Nicky
  • Fonterra's milk trains frequent the railway tracks running alongside the Patea River. This photo was taken before a big storm hit, and now most the pine trees in the distance have gone.
  • Hawera Rural View

  • By Nicky
  • Mt Taranaki made a stunning backdrop for a paddock of silage, with yellow flowers and farm buildings in between... a magic rural view!
